Traditional folk dances in Ks Kwiatkowski School in Bychawa

Last month Ks. Kwiatkowski High School in Bychawa organized an open day for pupils from other schools in the region. On this occasion students from our school, with the help of our teacher, Ms Anna Sionkowska, prepared a performance of Polish national dances. Students dressed in traditional costumes showed, among others, a polonaise.
The polonaise is a dance in 3/4 time. Its name is French for "Polish."
It is a widespread dance in carnival parties. Polonaise is always a first dance at a "studniówka" ("hundred-days" party), the Polish equivalent of the senior prom that occurs approximately 100 days before school leaving exams.
